Welcome to new Members

18th March 2019

The Institute welcomed three new Members to its ranks in February and March, bringing the current number of Members to 58.

  • Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd, a Japanese multinational engineering, electrical equipment and electronics company.
  • Kobe Steel, a major Japanese steel manufacturer, further strengthens the community of Institute Members based in Japan.  The first steelmaker the Institute counts as a Member, Kobe Steel has strategically positioned CCS/CCU as one of the potential solutions required as a means to substantially decrease its CO2 emissions.
  • Bright Generation Holdings adds to our list of small technology developers that are Members of the Institute.  Based in the US, Bright uses a cryogenic process to separate CO2 from flue streams.  They are keen to utilize the “45Q” tax credits now offered by the US government, and build relationships with others in the CCS value chain.
